In the last four consecutive years, Professor Hinson has been ranked the #1 Marketing Professor in Africa by the AD Scientific Index ranking. He holds Masters and Doctorate degrees in Marketing from the University of Ghana and a Chartered Marketing qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK. He also holds a second Doctorate degree in International Business from the Aalborg Business School in Denmark. He is a triple Emerald Literati Awards Winner having won an Outstanding Paper Award in 2022, Emerati Outstanding Paper Award in 2009 and an Emerati Highly Commended Paper Award in 2007. He is a Professor of Marketing at the University of Ghana and has held Visiting Professor Positions at the Durban University of Technology, University of the Free State, North West University and a Distinguished Visiting Professor position at the University of Johannesburg. He has held a Visiting Professor of Marketing position at the Lincoln International Business School in the United Kingdom.
